I bought this one thinking I could warm it up and use it with the cloth strips I got from my mom's spa. I was wrong. It can be heated in the microwave to start the melting process quickly, but it says you need a wax melter or heater to proceed. I wasn't planning on buying additional hardware that takes up space and can get messy with melted wax residue. Not to mention that a pot of melted wax sounds like a disaster next to pet hair and kids. This is intended for a more professional environment. For this reason I have never used real wax. I think it would be misleading to call it "microwaveable". I figured I could just heat it up in a jar. It had a normal smell and color like normal wax, but due to the misleading claims I was not able to test the wax.
