I don't like Platinum (Cascade brand) at all because despite its powerful cleaning it leaves rinse aid like residue on the dishes. If you hate rinse aid like I do, you need something less spicy. That's why I turned to Cascade Pure Essentials. After switching from Cascade Platinum to Cascade Pure I was a bit nervous at first that it wouldn't work effectively. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the cycle completed and clean dishes came out of the dishes WITHOUT the residue I've come to expect from Platinum. Do not get me wrong. I still have Platinum for more heavily soiled utensils like pots and pans with burnt food that are difficult to clean. However, most days when we're not so messy with cooking, I use Pure and am very happy with it. It handles grease very well and leaves our dishes shiny. All in all we love it!
