I run 3-6 miles a day and use stabilizing shoes to prevent overpronation. 2 months ago I started getting what I think are knee runners. I stopped for 2 weeks and after 2 weeks it started working again. So I spontaneously decided to go barefoot. Day 1, no knee problems and 7% faster time although I thought I was moving at the same pace. The first few hundred yards were awkward as I struggled to find my stride and foot position. Day 2 is the same, no finding the step, day 3 is the same but my calves bounce a little with new muscle activation. I'm only on day 3 but now I'm completely engrossed in this method.
