I bought this OBD scanner because I don't trust the reliability of my wife's Cadilac Escilade. We took a week-long road trip a little over a week ago, and sure enough, while we were driving on the interstate, the car started beeping codes and went into emergency mode. I was able to get out at the next exit and pull over to the side of the road. I downloaded the app before we went on my Kindle so I used it to connect to the scanner. The Kindle quickly connected and showed me what codes the machine was giving out. I was able to find several videos on U-Tube about codes and how to fix them. It turned out that the throttle position sensor was faulty. I called local auto parts, they stock it. I cleared the code with a program that allowed the car to run normally again and we went into autozone. Auto Zone was kind enough to loan me some tools and I removed the throttle body and replaced the sensor at the counter in their shop. Put the throttle back on the truck and off we went. Not only did this little device save our family vacation, it saved me tons of money on towing and mechanic bills. I strongly recommend that you always have one of these with your vehicle.
