This device worked fine for me. I bought it to store movies on our network to play on our Fire TV. I connected this device to our network and once set up it was easy to see from our file transfer computer. At first I couldn't get the VLC app to see the drive on the Fire TV, but I managed to get it working using Kodi. It truly behaves like a network storage device without all the bells and whistles (and expense) of a full-fledged NAS system. So far it has been stable and responsive to my needs. I also contacted customer support and they were very responsive to my questions, although ultimately the problem was with the VLC app and not the SSK drive. The downside of this device that I personally have is that you cannot turn off the wireless signal. . As far as I know it was designed for this use, but I don't need this feature as it's hardwired into my network, so I'd rather not broadcast the extra Wi-Fi SSID signal. I have a good password to protect my content, but I would prefer if the app had an option to disable this feature.
