The mic we received didn't seem to do anything. The microphone was probably damaged in shipping. Note: I ONLY did the following because it did NOTHING. After removing the screw on the base of the microphone and the wooden base itself, I saw that the spring inside was not attached at the bottom. At the base of the red plastic piece is a square hole you can look inside. From there you can see a small plastic rod to which the spring should be attached. I managed to take a piece of wire bent into a hook around the bottom of the spring, thread it through the square hole, bend the bottom of the spring more and attach it to the "rod", which creates the spring in this device. Celebration. After that, the microphone worked as expected. It still sounds like an echo, but that's all I expected. I hope this helps others who may have received the same defective item.
