Comes in a gift box. The car itself comes with a rechargeable battery, but the remote control requires AAA batteries. I like the fact that the car has traction motors, each side of the car is controlled individually. You can turn the car to the right or left. Really great toy! My kids 4 and 8 had a lot of fun putting it together. It was a great day project for her. It took them maybe an hour and a half, but once they built it, they played with it for quite a while. The instructions were easy enough for my 8 year old and they built it without supervision. The remote worked well for driving the vehicle and everything was relatively easy to put together.
