Review on HF Autoparts Towing Mirrors: Compatible with 09-18 Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500, Power Heated with Signal Light, Extendable Pair Set - Yellow Lens Included by Mark Caperton

First off, my car is a 2009 Ram 1500 Sport. As soon as I opened the box, I was impressed by the quality of these mirrors. All connections were correct and the mounting plate fits. After removing the door panel and removing the old mirrors, I installed the first mirror, connected it to the wiring harness in the door panel, turned the key and tested the functions. 1. Mirror motors work in all directions as they should. 2. Blinkers on the mirror itself work as they should. I connected 12V directly to this line and the LED lit up so I know how the light works. b. I remembered reading another review here (before buying) that explained something was not plugged in properly. So I searched for this review and did my own testing. in. It turns out that the power source for the puddle lights comes from an entirely different wire in the wiring harness, unfortunately it's been about a month since I installed them and I can't remember the colors correctly. Use a multimeter and some connectors if you want your puddles to work. 4. Reversing lights. My truck didn't have this feature so they won't work with any of the harness connectors. There are plenty of wires coming from them to connect to reversing lights if you want. However, I decided I wanted them to turn on along with the puddle lights so the side of the truck also lights up. So I connected them with puddle light wires. 5. Rear turn signals. Again, my truck only had the bottom turn signals as part of the stock mirrors, so I'm guessing it's part of the wiring harness used by the mirror signals (red) on that mirror. As a result, the rear (amber) turn signals did not work at all. I had to connect them to the wiring harness that controlled the red turn signals on the mirror. 6. The seller has included a schematic here in the Questions section, part of which is WRONG. Now I can't remember if it was puddle lights or reverse lights, but they reversed +/-. Again, use a multimeter and test it as you go. It's not difficult, it only takes a few minutes to sort everything properly. All in all I would definitely buy them again. This is a fantastic product at a very reasonable price. They take a bit of getting used to having used the sports mirrors for the last 10 years. I have yet to get our boat out of the garage to really test it at tow (which is why I bought it in the first place). But hopefully we'll get to the lake in the next few weeks.
