Review on πŸ”² SteelSeries PRISMCAPS: Durable PBT Thermoplastic Keycaps for Mechanical Keyboards - Double Shot Pudding-Style, Black by Mike Marks

Save $10 and buy HyperX keycaps

Straight view - My keyboard (Apex Pro), mouse pad (Qck XXL) and mouse (Aerox 3) are all SteelSeries. I bought the HyperX equivalent keycaps (for $19.99 in July 2021) a week before the SteelSeries keycaps came out (for $29.99), so I bought them to keep things the same since the HyperX set had HyperX's proprietary space bar. When I unboxed the SteelSeries set, I noticed that they were exactly the same, except the SteelSeries set's font was slightly larger. To be honest I knew beforehand that they would be similar. After changing the keycaps, the only difference between the two brands is the different font size and that the SteelSeries set was slightly more comfortable, but that can only be because one is newer than the other. I don't understand how they charge $10 more for the same caps that are already on the market. You get an extra set of different sized panels, but that doesn't justify the extra $10. When dialing, they both sound and feel the same. With RGB enabled, both look the same. I can't provide a comparison image as the lighting looks exactly how the camera on my phone balances the exposure and color. I only keep SteelSeries keycaps because they are SteelSeries and fit the rest of my devices, but if I were to recommend Pudding/Clear keycaps to a friend, I'd say HyperX keycaps are always better! second image - S = SteelSeries, H = HyperX "t" image - left SteelSeries, right HyperX
