I am very impressed with these glass pens. They hold a lot of ink and you can write forever before needing to be refilled. I use them to keep daily logs of my activities and weekly planning, projects etc and they will write forever. If you look at the picture you can see a sample from a cheaper pen set sold in packs of ten. It's okay in a pinch, but you can only get 24 words in a single press, and some characters are corrupted. A sample of text from one of these pens is in the bottom half, and you can see that I was able to delve much deeper into everything, for a total of 75 words, before having to dip it back into the inkwell. externally, Externally, most of these pens look the same. But if you look closely, and you can probably only tell by holding them in your hand, the barrel leading to the tip is maybe 1/3 wider on these pens. That's what I think causes them to hold a lot more ink, with the result that you can write for a very long time before going back to the fountain and refilling. I highly recommend them and have already bought two packs of three. I haven't tested them against the even more expensive Molshine. Molshine is well packed in a soft box, which is good as a gift. Unfortunately, I don't remember how they were packaged. I believe they were wrapped in bubble wrap and a few packs of duct tape. If you are new to using glass pens, like me, start with this and good ink. There is an inkwell with pen holder here at Revain that you can get. This sample was taken with ink from a black ink bottle that you can find on this page. Pasta color works well too. I originally bought this to write checks with bulletproof noodles without clogging my fountain pen. It works well for this type of ink (54 Mass and Bernanke).
