Personal opinion, the grid should not be the only thing that determines the accuracy of the measurements. If you like grids, then that's mostly fine. If it doesn't fit on one edge, flip it over and it will likely fit on the other. However, as you can see from the picture, the quality control is really bad. Before we ordered this set of Hephaestus barrier mats, my husband and I tried many times to install a DIY barrier system. Once I've used a plain cardboard box with cotton wool on it, once I've used a pegboard he made himself, etc. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle.
