Personal opinion, the grid should not be the only thing that determines the accuracy of the measurements. If you like grids, then that's mostly fine. If it doesn't fit on one edge, flip it over and it will likely fit on the other. However, as you can see from the picture, the quality control is really bad. Some mats have the mesh and logo printed very clearly, while others are incredibly faded and fresh out of the box. If you look at the joints in the picture, you will also see that the corners are shaped differently, which means that you can only stitch them together as a grid. If you're trying to block a rather irregularly shaped cloth, you won't be able to lengthen it by moving a square off the center. However, the foam is quite thick, so for my immediate needs that's fine. The squares don't slip when you put them together and that's exactly what I need now.
