This is the best USB 3.0 hub I have ever used. You need a 1 x 4 chipset to ensure maximum USB 3.0 compatibility and avoid port conflicts. Other manufacturers only use one chipset per hub and the last 4 ports are not enough, especially for Macs that may be more demanding in terms of USB hub compatibility. Plugable gives you enough or more than enough chipsets. HUB10C2 is equipped with three internal chipsets of VIA Labs VL812 B2 USB 3.0.2 hub. Many manufacturers save on the plug. This means your computer has to deliver a lot of power to the outlet. However, this limits the number of hard drives you can use on the hub. Plugable gives this hub a powerful 48W plug. This gives each of the 10 ports 4.8 watts of power - at 5 volts that's 0.96 amps - well above the 0.9 amp minimum for USB 3.0. USB 3.0 hub - where all ports can be uploaded. But this 10 port hub is the best. Unfortunately, the powerful 7-port USB 3.0 hub has a power switch. When the power is off, this power switch must be manually activated, otherwise the hub will not work. There is no switch in the 10 port hub - which is great! It turns on automatically after a power failure.
