This device looked promising at first, worked well for about 2 hours and then got weird. My MacBook Pro started disabling the USB hub because it was using too much power. Hm? The hub must be autonomous and not consume electricity. No matter what I did, I couldn't solve this problem. going back.

Charging ports not working.

Good reliable socket. The two dedicated charging ports are not working properly. Tested with two Android phones and both show 3.5 hours+ for a 0 to 100 charge. A standard 2.1 charger will charge both in less than 2 hours. There's definitely a difference between a 'charging' and a 'regular' USB jack, as plugging your phone into a regular outlet shows 'charging via USB versus AC when using the charging jack'. Too bad the loading time is the same. Since the charging function was the only reason Iโ€ฆ

This is a great hub for computers and accessories

My last hub from this manufacturer lasted 7 years. But little by little, the USB ports became fickle. But hey, it's been seven years and I deserve a new toy. My phone charges but not my Samsung tablets. So it is by no means a charging station. I like wired devices. So my mouse, keyboard and various flash drives are a blessing. Pros: It has lots of ports. The power supply is grounded. The power supply is removed, eliminating the need to cover unnecessary outlets. Cons: doesn't charge my tablets,

Works in hot mode and turns off your hard drives.

I don't know why mine is getting hot. I smell something burning. When I connected it to the power supply, a blue light came on first. After a few minutes it had no power and the blue power LED on top of the device went out. I had to unplug it and plug it back in. power on? Not sure if mine is bad. Last night I smelled a strong odor of something burning. When I got to the hub it was hot and smelly. Comes with a HUGE adapter, power adapter. Wow, more than my computer. The device was able to provide enough power for my USB 3.0 device.

The USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard could not provide the power needed to run the Zalman ZM-VE400. The ZM-VE400 is a combo USB 3.0 mass storage device and bootable device (it includes a user-selectable SSD) - a great device that is sadly no longer available. I purchased this plug-in USB 3.0 hub specifically to see if it could provide the power needed to run the ZM-VE400. I'm happy to report that the plug-in USB 3.0 hub is more than capable of supplying the necessary power to reliably run theโ€ฆ

Reliable by Plugable

My son has a habit of leaving cool tech gifts like this lying around for months. So, a year later, he finally gets it up and running and wonders why he didn't do it sooner. I had a plug-in USB 2.0 hub (among other plug-in accessories) that I was very happy with - it handled everything I threw at it. This experience influenced the decision to gift this plug-in USB 3.0 hub to my son. Multiple Type-A USB 3.0 ports and charging suit its needs - it currently works with a 2TB WD HD portable, aโ€ฆ

Cannot handle load

This works very well but has limitations. It's a 10-port hub, but I couldn't get all 10 ports to work at the same time. Eight work occasionally and only seven constantly. And it's not that specific ports are bad, it's just that the device itself can only handle so much load. It gets finicky when turning on the computer (Windows 10 PC) and about 50% of the time I have to unplug all the USB cables from the hub and then plug them back in one at a time and wait for the system to recognize the USBโ€ฆ

Best 10-Port USB 3.0 Hub!

This is the best USB 3.0 hub I have ever used. You need a 1 x 4 chipset to ensure maximum USB 3.0 compatibility and avoid port conflicts. Other manufacturers only use one chipset per hub and the last 4 ports are not enough, especially for Macs that may be more demanding in terms of USB hub compatibility. Plugable gives you enough or more than enough chipsets. HUB10C2 is equipped with three internal chipsets of VIA Labs VL812 B2 USB 3.0.2 hub. Many manufacturers save on the plug. This means your
