GE 54173 Socket Adapter to Convert Socket to Lamp Socket Polarized Ivory This is a very inexpensive tool that has helped me a lot. It's that easy to use. I had a little corner at the front of the house that I think someone used as an office or storage space in this house when it was built. It's just a small room with a window and space for a bunk bed and a TV. I made it when my 6 year old niece came to visit. She loves the idea of her "own room" and appreciates the small room. I call it her corner. There were outlets in the room but not a very good source of light other than a lamp. One of the outlets is near the door frame, so I just screwed the lightbulb into the adapter and plugged it in. Now I have a lot of light in my room when my little angel wants to paint or just play. I'd love to find a lamp with a switch, but for now I either unplug it or unscrew the bulb so it doesn't dangle when I want to turn it off. Otherwise it's perfect and there can't be a better or cheaper solution. Works perfectly!
