Review on Continental PremiumContact 6 215/55 R17 94V summer by Stanislaw Pietka ᠌

The product is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

Since 2022, I've been driving on continental tires. I began out with premium contact 2, so I have expertise in operating tires of this brand. In 2022, when the question of what tires to buy came up, the answer was clear, or so it seemed at the time. I made the obvious option and went with continental. And now, after a year of operation, I would like to note that premium contact 6 tires were designed and tested on European roads. If this had not been the case, the engineers would have changed the width of the grooves of the pattern, as a lot of small and medium stones get stuck in the grooves on our roads, which results in a hum and, in my case, requires me to call for balancing once every two months. I didn't pay much attention to these stones at first because I thought that they were just poorly balanced. However, when the story kept repeating itself, I started to look closely and saw that the majority of these tires always have a lot of stones in the tread. If you want to see for yourself, you can look at the most recent generation of the Kia Sorento because this rubber comes from the factory. This year, while wearing tires for the new season, I also noticed uneven wear. To be more specific, the centre was worn out more than the sides, despite the fact that the tire pressure was always kept at no more than 2.3 (there are pressure monitors in the car), and the tires were never pumped. A lot of people have written about the soft sidewall, but I've never thought of it as a drawback because it's impossible to have a hard sidewall and a smooth running rubber at the same time. Well, I just wanted to point that out. On the other hand, this particular type of rubber features a certain design on the sidewall, such as 3d, that makes a hernia less obvious at first glance. I didn't see a hernia on the wheel until I looked at it from above, and it turned out that the hernia was on the bottom of the wheel. As a result, I had to replace one of the cylinders. This past year, when I started to run my palm over this drawing, I got the sensation that I was being squeezed. As a result, I've decided to seek advice from my masters in the hopes that they will either allay my concerns or tell me that I need to get a new one. Tires, in general, are a contentious topic on a number of fronts; but, when it comes to braking and road stability, there are no concerns at all.

Pros
  • Controllability Predictable deceleration
Cons
  • Worn in an uneven manner
