This is a very poor quality toy. It looks like they weren't even sanded before painting, making them a splinter hazard. I'm scared because they are designed for toddlers from 3 years old while similar toys I've seen are designed for ages 6 months and up. They are clearly made for babies and even advertise that they are a good shower gift as if they were made for babies. It seems shady, and then there's the issue of color. Other toys I've seen that use water-based paint have been clear. They are covered in a thick opaque paint with a clear coat over it. The toys are advertised as teething toys, but the instructions say to wipe up saliva after use and avoid hard bites. Teething toys are designed to be drooled on and chewed on as the counter pressure helps relieve the pain of teething. It sounds like the paint isn't as safe as advertised and not as durable as it should be. If you want to buy really nice wooden toys for your baby or as a gift, just pay the money and get a nice teething toy. Don't buy this.
