If you want to take full advantage of this product, you need to install the Govee application. This app to connect phone to thermometer within bluetooth range requires access to your location. This is an invalid request. If you turn off the GPS, it refuses to connect. Garbage.

Bought 2 of these for temperature checking in garage, workshop and trailer. The Bluetooth connection works well up to a distance of about 25 feet through exterior walls and the metal sides of the trailer. The only thing I would wish for is a PC app to keep an eye on the temperature in addition to the Android app.

The app requires you to give your phone too many permissions to receive data over bluetooth. I would buy another sensor before settling on one that requires the same extensive permissions as this one. No Govi, you *do not* need location services for Bluetooth pairing. Bluetooth doesn't work that way. This is not how sending data to the phone works.

I bought 2 of these for my greenhouse and I really like them so far. It's nice to be able to get humidity and temperature data logs for both locations via Bluetooth. Complete installation.
