Compared to 3 other anemometers it reads low

I recommend you buy the larger anemometer units if accuracy is important. We had 4 anemometers side by side one day on the runway and this one was reading lower than the rest. I like the size, recessed buttons and design of this smaller unit. When I put this unit and a larger unit on a heat vent they read about the same but in the real world of wind readings side by side it is reading low by as much as 5mph in 15mph wind. Make sure you hold it away from your body so there is a clean airstream.

Pros
  • Excellent
Cons
  • The device requires batteries which can be expensive to replace over time

Terrific value good for me

I bought this after returning a similar product that actually cost a few dollars more, and yet which had proved wildly inaccurate. This unit is very, very compact. It comes with readable directions and it is fairly accurate. This is the one to get if one is interested in something handy and small, and does not want to upgrade to larger units that will require larger batteries, e.g., 9 volt or two AA.

Pros
  • Like it. Easy to use. Put it away so as to not lose it, can't find it. Buying another.
Cons
  • The measurement range is limited to temperatures between 14℉ and 113℉, making it less useful for extreme environments

Does what I expected

It is smaller than I expected. The red rubber cover REMOVES to be able to get to the battery box - just pull it over the top and it removes easily. Battery cover not easy to open. When you do open it be mindful that there is an "O" ring to seal the compartment and it will come out with the cover! Do not loose it. The battery connections are small and the negative pole connector needed to be adjusted (pulled to the center slightly) to keep good contact. The blade needs a little help moving in…

Pros
  • Great product for the cost.
Cons
  • Product arrived and put batteries in and didn’t workIn process of returning for replacement

Anemometer is small and handtlich. Works best

Great wind measuring instrument! Small, very light, decent quality housing and assembly, works quite smartly. I 'd bet ten stars if I could.I use this wind speed gauge for for long range rifle shooting and while the flags indicate wind direction. Minimum steady wind speed indication is 0,7 m/s. Does not measure less. But I don't need that. The thermometer works correctly. I'm very pleased!

Pros
  • Excelente. Fácil de usar
Cons
  • The device only measures wind speed and temperature, limiting its usefulness for more advanced weather analysis

Good simple Anemometer

Bought this nit to use with my drone. This unit is very easy to use once one figures out the circuitous menu profile. Wasn’t sure of the accuracy but when compared with another unit, they both gave almost identical results. Can be set to various units and wind can be recorded as current, max or average.

Pros
  • Works perfectly a great tool for the drone box
Cons
  • The readings may be affected by external factors such as humidity or air pressure

An nice affordable anemometer!

This is a great little anemometer! It doesn't what more expensive devices do at a fraction of the price! Its accurate, simple to use and the display is clear and easy to read. There's a red protective covering on it that should keep it safe from minor knocks. For the price, you can't beat it!

Pros
  • Great price for the basic info. Very easy to operate.
Cons
  • The device isn't waterproof and may be damaged if exposed to water or other liquids

device doesnt turn on

very disappointed. numerous unsuccessful attempts to turn the device on .tried with several fresh new batteries to no usebig failure

Pros
  • Haven't tried this yet, but it looks like it'll be great as a gift for my brother for our kayak trips.
Cons
  • The device's battery life may not be sufficient for extended use in the field

Serves it’s purpose

I got this to determine wind direction and speed on some land I had. That's my feedback. It worked great for what I needed and very portable.

Pros
  • I have no complaints. It appears to work well.
Cons
  • The device may not be accurate in very high winds or extreme weather conditions

Reads low and not at all for low wind speeds.

The price is quite low, and so are the wind speed readings. I have not tried the more expensive alternatives. However when using this device to detect low winds speeds the blade did not turn.

Pros
  • I wish the light stayed on as long as I turn it off again.
Cons
  • I was out sailing and the unit got wet. It failed straightaway. I only got to use it a couple of times.

Works fine for casual use.

Pretty good for the price. You have to take the case off to change units of measurement. Under reads by 3-5 mp it appears to me, probably because the little fan deal is too small to be really accurate. I use it just to get a baseline of wind speed for curiosity, not anything mission critical, so it serves that purpose because it's portable and easy to use.

Pros
  • Easy to carry and easy to use.
Cons
  • The small and compact size of the device may make it easy to lose or misplace

Incomplete Construction of Wintact Anemometer WT816

The rear port to install the battery is sealed. No way to install the battery. Manufacturing of the unit is incomplete. No quality control to find this error in assembly or construction.

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • I don't think it is accurate!

Instrument kept resetting

The wind speed indicator was what I most liked. But the battery apparently kept disconnecting, which caused all settings to reset to factory settings. And it's a pain to reset them for U.S. units. Also, the temperature readings were not even close to actual temperature. In most cases it read 20 degrees or more too high. And would not change when you walked outside or put it in the 'fridge. I don't think this is ready for prime time. I returned mine for a refund.

Pros
  • Small, very handy device! Works great!
Cons
  • There may be more durable anemometers on the market that can withstand more wear and tear over time

Perfect wind meter, threshold value 137.8 ft/min

The handheld wind anemometer seems to work well for now. Very light and perfect for hike & fly acitivities. Battery cr2032 is included.

Pros
  • Shooting.
Cons
  • The device may need to be frequently calibrated in order to maintain accuracy

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Too hard to understand instructions for use.

I found the instructions were difficult to understand so I returned the product. It may be just me and way above my ability to understand.

Pros
  • works as excpected to measure wind and temperature!
Cons
  • The device may not be accurate enough for scientific research purposes

Stopped Working: my feedback

Was great until it stopped working after a few months. Battery tests good. Reset by removing battery. Still not working correctly.

Pros
  • I use it to keep track of the temp in an construction worksite and is works very well.
Cons
  • It was very nice, But the power button stuck.

Great little product

For my use of measuring wind speed on the golf course (I live in Kansas, and sometimes it is WINDY) this product does a great job and is fun to use. When I golf with others, it becomes quite a conversation piece as we try to guess the speed!

Pros
  • Everything was great
Cons
  • The digital display isn't backlit, making it difficult to read in low light conditions

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bad design and bad manufacturing quality

I would not purchase this Anemometer again. I was not able to install a battery in the wind gauge to make it operate because of very poor plastic moulding over the place the battery was to be installed.

Pros
  • Worked great fit for what it's was intended.
Cons
  • The device may not be suitable for use by people with limited dexterity or impaired vision

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Avoid. Velocity is off by six mph low.

No adjustments for temp or more importantly wind velocity. How hard would it have been to have a software adjustment using the two buttons or at the very least a trimmer pot in the back? Backlight only stays on for ten seconds. At night that make it a real pain in the ass to have to keep repeatedly pressing a button to see a reading in the dark. Have a constant on setting option for the backlight and power save. If I want to save power I'll turn it off. It also loses all settings when the…

Pros
  • Works well! Easy to control.
Cons
  • The device's small size may make it difficult to hold and operate for extended periods of time
