Best car mod I've ever made

Installed on my 2000 Trans Am with a forged HCI LS1 (420 whp). Of all the things that have been done to the car, this is what I liked the most. I should have done that many years ago. The installation took a little over an hour. Simply cut out a section of the exhaust pipe, clamp it and run the wire to the power source. On my car, after the Y-Fuse, there's a great cutout that fits perfectly into the contour of the floorboard and sits flush with the rest of the undercarriage. Then I cut off the plug from the cigarette lighter and route the cable to the positive terminal and to body ground. That's all! When I was building this car, I purposefully bought a quieter exhaust system (Magnaflow). My intention was to include a cutout later if I wanted a louder machine. Well, that's exactly what I did and I couldn't be happier! I can be as loud as I want, when I want, and turn it down to a low rumble when needed. Much better than just a loud exhaust system, you don't have to deal with noise all the time, only when you want it. Out on the Autobahn? Open it and snap it when you're cringing, then close it while you're driving so you don't hear the buzz. When you go to work in the morning, keep it closed so as not to disturb the neighbors and open it when I'm not around. Everything at the push of a button. I don't think I'll ever buy a loud exhaust again, now I make cutouts when I want it loud. The build quality of this cutout is pretty solid. Nice smooth welds, the motor feels very solid and the blade is quite thick and closes perfectly. With the valve closed, there is no noticeable leakage even at full power. I've had it for about a week now and every time I ride it I've been cranking it almost non-stop (I miss that, the difference between open and closed is just fun) and it still runs smoothly. And when I talk about the difference in sound, I mean "this car can work with it" when it's closed, or "Who's driving a NASCAR down the street?" when it's open. Get. Don't even think about it, just do it.
