Update: I cloned a drive last week, it worked great. This week he insists he's still connected to the system via USB, even though the cable was unplugged before turning it on. I've tried everything I can think of to get out of USB mode as it doesn't clone when connected via USB. I can no longer clone drives with it. ORIGINAL: I got this for our repair shop and used it for data recovery as well as checking the drives to make sure they are ok. I haven't tried cloning the drive yet, but the instructions seem pretty simple. The only problem I can see is when I try to clone a drive with known bad sectors, as from what I've read it doesn't work, but since it's USB 3.0 and my old SATA-to- USB adapter 2.1, the task will be done much faster than before with cloning software, ignoring unreadable sectors.
