At first I was concerned when I received it, thinking it would be too soft to help much and it was smaller than I expected, but I was wrong. This pillow was the most amazing purchase. I ordered it mainly in tears of frustration and chronic back and hip pain that is worst at night (I can't take NSAIDs for pain relief so I needed other options). Since receiving it, I have had no more pain (and if I have, it has been minimal). It's versatile too, I sleep with it in front of me, behind me and with a regular pillow as it adapts perfectly to the curve of my neck when I sleep on my side with my arm under the pillow. It's great when I'm sitting on my laptop or lying on my stomach, all you have to do is rotate it until it suits you! It had a slightly odd smell which I believe is due to the foam/gel inside. But I sprayed it with fabric freshener and haven't noticed it since. However, if you are sensitive to smells, this can be a problem. The cushion cover is as soft as velvet and zips up for easy washing. The bottom of the pillowcase has a handle to keep it on your bed and support you.
