I'm so impressed. My PS3 hard drive died after 9 years so I decided to try this replacement. Just $21 and my PS3 is restored. The installation instructions were right on the Hitachi hard drive packaging. Just place it in the included stand, screw it in, plug it into the PS3, and then I had to download the Sony recovery update onto a USB stick into the appropriate 'PS3' and 'UPDATE' folders and follow the on-screen instructions. Luckily the PlayStation Store is still open so I can download all my apps and games. Incredibly easy. + to infinity!
