Review on πŸš€ Official Creality Extruder Filament Upgrade by Reza Cook

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than the standard or red version but not ideal for the Creality Direct Drive Upgrade

I am using the Creality Direct Drive Conversion on the Creality CR-10 mini. When the Bowden coupling is screwed in, the hole in the direct drive bracket is too small to let it through, so you can't line up the extruder mounting holes to mount it. Luckily there is a recessed part inside the extruder that fits into the bowden tube and holds it in place without the need for a connector. Because the hose is mounted on a direct drive mod, it can't move if you cut it to the right length, so this won't be a problem. Previously I used a red direct drive Creality extruder. however, found it didn't provide enough tension and I heard occasional slips when pulling back. This version has adjustable spring tension and seems to eliminate slippage, however it is a bit difficult to adjust the tension if you have a direct drive caliper as the bolt is on the bottom. You cannot adjust it prior to installation as there is a mounting screw next to it that you will need access to. Overall this is a pretty good product for most people with the standard bowden settings that most people will use.
