Review on Sceptre U278W 4000R 4K DisplayPort Monitor with Built-In Speakers and IPS Technology by John Wiest

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor for the price

First, the price of this monitor can't be beat. I know a lot of people report dead pixel issues and I have a few of those too, but at this price point I can't really complain. I got 4 or 5 dead pixels about in the middle, 3 or 4 inches from the left side. I'm working a lot on performance improvements and this is my second 4k screen and the second is a TV I bought a few years ago. This works well for having multiple things open at once and being able to see everything. This is as small as possible before you have to zoom in to read anything on the screen. The HDMI input seems to be delayed, but I think it's not because of the refresh rate for HDMI, it's because of the monitor itself, since the display port is smoother and it's 60Hz. The response time with the display port is imperceptible. Not sure if people care about my hardware but I'm running 2x 4k screens on the RX480 and it's only being used at or below 10% while running. I was playing GTA V and it jumped from 75% to 85% on max settings (I'm not a hardcore gamer, just causal when I get bored). Worth a return or exchange but if the price goes down again I'll probably order 1 or 2 more for my desktop. 4 stars for a few dead pixels, but that's the only negative so far, and it's hardly a problem. Rated 99/100 if it were a scale.
