I bought this to power my 12v DC converter for battery maintenance. The charging current was around 1 ampere when idle and never exceeded 11 amperes at maximum charge, so a 15 ampere cable should have been sufficient. I'm a retired electronics engineer so I know math. The cable was fine for about 3 months when I noticed a color change on the triple female connector it turned black. Now, six months later, the end of the cable had shorted out, catching sparks, smoke, and fire. The current load at that time was 3 amperes. This is really disappointing as the cable is out of warranty. I'll try to put a new end on as 10 gauge wire as it seems fine and can be salvaged. That shouldn't have happened with such a simple operation. DO NOT BUY THIS!
