Review on 🐴 Nikwax Horse Blanket Cleaning and Waterproofing Solution by Chucky Hepler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This stuff is pretty good. I prepare sheets for horses with.

This material is very good. I prep horse sheets with Resolve spray for nasty stuff and also use a roller to remove the hair so I don't compromise my washing machine (front load). I use a blanket system that I buy from Schneider's Tack. You can get a pad with padding according to your needs and then put the sheet on top and align the slots with both. Anyway, I've been using this for years and this detergent for years too. The water-repellent topsheet comes out well with this wash. Nikwax offers a free detergent that will restore the duvet/sheet's water repellency. I have it but you need a lot of product for each item which will be expensive. Although I live in PNW my horse has shelter from the rain and to be honest he hates rain so waterproofing wasn't on my list. Another feature of this duvet system that I use, since I wash the sheet and lining separately, it fits in my washing machine really well so I never have to take it to a commercial laundromat or use expensive horse duvet washing services. The only thing you have to remember is to prep the sheet/quilt before washing and when you do that wash it works like a charm.
