I had high hopes for this bed (size XL) for my 80lb German Shepherd. In summer our patio is sunny until midday and I was hoping it would be a good shady spot for her to relax. When I was about to put it away for the winter, I noticed that the canopy was tearing apart and felt so "crunchy" like some fabric that shouldn't be exposed to the sun and would go bad in a season. Also, the center strap was torn under the bed where it was sewn to the fabric of the bed base. I don't know how fixable that is. In general, this is not a very durable bed.
