They are much softer and more comfortable than disposable nursing pads but be aware they will shrink in the washer/dryer. I washed and dried them in a laundry bag along with other whites and I actually found it helpful to stretch them out with my hands before tossing them back in the bag and into the dryer as they tended to bunch up in the washing machine to roll into small balls. . They're several layers thick, so even drying on high heat, I usually had to lay them out until they were completely dry. Months so you can see the shrinkage.
