I like this cutter because I have to cut every day and a lot of cardboard. I carry it in my pocket and it stays in place. Later I open twice a year myself. It could be a ceramic blade, but its shape is just enough to cut you, and cuts well if you're not careful to think it's not. I have an auto feeder and it's great for what I do as I cut the tops off of everything I need to take to the line. I'd say since I've been using it for a year now the blade will last a while. However, if you want it to be as good as new, you have to flip the blade to the other side. So with daily use 5-6 days a week with heavy use a blade will last about 2 months if a blade is turned over. As for the cutter itself, I've tried 3 cutters already. As for various reasons. 1. Upper part where the blade can get lost after a while. 2. An auto-retraction button that uses a slide up and down to withdraw the blade creates a stuck feel that appears to be pinching the side of the part that comes out of the spare blade. All in all I will continue to use this cutter. As I have noticed, there is no room for an additional blade on the cutter just received. I'm glad they finally made it a one-piece grip. Just a shout out to myself as I wrote to Slice.com suggesting this because the blade holder would get lost on the handle, fly off and become lost. Which made using/placing the cutter awkward without this part. Now I'm just waiting for my royalties for using my idea. Slice, I'm still waiting for it.
