Looked through more than 100 coffee machines and reviews. I replaced a famous branded mug maker k (our 3rd in 6 years and each was of slightly poorer quality). But the man wanted to have a cup of coffee now and then. Of all the coffee makers we've had in the past, the Cuisinart was the only one that never broke. I only dumped them because I got tired of cleaning them multiple times a day and decided to go the kcup route. Of course, my unicorn master would make a pot, portion, hot water, grind, and a cold drink, but that was the closest price I was willing to pay. I have to say this one is pretty good! The quality was top, durable, rustproof and hard-wearing plastic. Very easy to clean and has a small fold down shelf to avoid spilling when using a portion. One minus point - after reading the reviews I now understand what people were talking about. The single-serve side has a reservoir that holds about 40 ounces. Water but there is no window to see the water level and there is an overflow hole at the back. So if you overfill it, water will flow out of that hole. Learned this the hard way. and since everything is black at the back, you can't see how much water is in the lid. A symbol (water drop) will appear on the display to alert you that it needs to be filled and it will not work if there is no water. So we've gotten used to only filling it when it's empty. I have a container that holds the perfect amount without overflowing. How difficult would it be to add a window like on the side of the carafe? A single feed cover is also not included in the scope of delivery. The coffee is still great though, even on one side of the portion it's better than other brands and the water is spread all over the cup or filter. The built in coffee grinder is good too and very easy to clean everything! I also bought a gold filtered single and it's excellent! Worth the price and the little headache!
