Until recently the only drill I owned was a very old drill I inherited from my grandfather . It still worked and didn't cost me anything, but other than that it was pretty awful. It's very big and heavy. Most of its weight was forward, so it was a fully two-handed weapon. It wasn't even wireless. I had to take an extension cord with me every time I wanted to use it. Despite being so tall, perhaps because of his age, he wasn't very strong. It was often difficult to break through something even remotely strong, even with a proprietary high quality bit. Although I didn't drill that much, I decided I'd had enough and bought this little 12v Bosch. I only use it for small household items so I see no reason to increase it. Wow what a difference! It's lightweight, convenient, and easy to use, which my old drill doesn't have. What really surprised me was the power. I'm sure if I went hard it would reach its limits, but it's still a lot of power in a small package. At least twice as fast to drill the same hole as my old one but a fraction of the size and weight. If all you need is a small power drill for the home, look no further. And even if you're serious about drilling around the shop, that little drill is probably easier and more convenient to use than a big, heavy one. It may be easier for your hand to use that when possible, and only reach for the big one when the situation calls for it.
