I have 2 cats that run around the garden and I use them as flea collars. I have 2 kits so 1 kit is always soaked in a closed container with anti flea liquid and the other kit is with my cats. I change them every few days. These collars are made of an ideal material that absorbs liquid. I don't want to put these flea poisons on my cat - they get into the bloodstream and who knows what they can do. I've had no problem with cats taking their collars off, I don't care, but another tried to take it off to no avail. Other reviewers have complained that the cat comes home without a collar and the neighbors call to pick it up. As someone who has lost a dog to being strangled with a regular collar, I can tell you firsthand how devastating it is, and unfortunately it happens more often than people think. I now only use detachable collars on all my pets, cats and dogs. Those detachable collars do the trick. I would rather lose my collar than my beloved pet.
