Good value for the "normal " user, no tolerance for overclocking

I upgraded this memory to 32GB but had to return it. Using the XMP profile with my i7-6700k on a MSI Z170A it worked fine and tested well. But as soon as I changed the CPU multiplier, the problems started. After lots of random Windows crashes on my usual 4.4GHz frequency, I started testing extensively with Memtest86. Only standard 4GHz had memory errors. It didn't change anything other than CPU multiplier, so I'm not sure why memory hated it so much. This memory already requires a fairly high DRAM voltage of 1.35V (my original XPG was only 1.2V). I tried increasing it a bit but it didn't help. After trying everything imaginable, the only way to fix the bugs was to drive at a much lower speed. 2600MHz was fine. At 2800 MHz there were always errors. 3000MHz and there were so many errors that memtest hung before completion. I could work at a reduced speed or shorten the time, but the time was already mediocre. 3000MHz 16-18-18-36 compared to my original XPG 2800MHz 17-17-17-36 which is slightly faster despite the lower frequency. After a few days of fiddling I gave up and decided to return it. My computer ran consistently at 4.4GHz (very conservative for a 6700k) for years, so the fact that this memory didn't allow it at all was a deal breaker. Bottom line, if you don't overclock this memory at all, a very good value compared to the big names. If you're into overclocking, you'll need to look elsewhere.
