First let me say that I prefer to lather my face after I've wet my brush. This soap washing machine is great for this method. This is a natural soap based on glycerin, the smell is very pleasant but not harsh. The scent lingers a bit after shaving, but I don't think anyone else will notice; it's just a personal reminder of a great shave. I haven't noticed any drying of the skin and so far the washer looks like it will last through many shaves. I shaved it four times and hardly used it. Super silky smooth lather and at $10 for a three pack you won't find better value for money.
