Review on Perixx PERIMICE 209 Optical Scroll 11832 by Steven Harmon

First impressions are good

This is an old style PS/2 wired optical mouse. Proven and genuine design. Some will consider them obsolete in this day and age where USB wireless mice have become something special. I do not agree. She still has a place in my heart and on my desk. If you still have an old computer that uses it, or you're running a KVM application that still requires round PS/2 connectors, you can't go wrong with this little mouse. .The tracking LED glows through the scroll wheel with a thin red glow. Now to actually USING the mouse.Tracking is accurate. It uses older imaging technology with red LEDs. It can track on most surfaces. The feel of the button is nice and clicky. I can't comment on the durability of the switches used, but it seems like this mouse should last almost forever. The scroll wheel scrolls pleasantly quietly. The push-click is just as clicky as the main switches. The plastic wheel has a grooved rubber tire to help you hold it. It may get worse in the next 20 years, but if somehow you've kept your computer using PS/2 ports for that long, I doubt it'll be a problem you can't fix.
