I made a horrible mistake and ordered two replacement filters for this air purifier and now I feel like I'm stuck with that. It seems to be great at cleaning the air in our small bedroom *BUT* the mechanical fan knocks intermittently every 5-30 seconds as if the blades were slapping against some part of the case. It's terrible when you're trying to sleep. Well, actually just trying to sleep. Once you hear it, wait for it to happen again, which happens. At the lowest two fan speeds, it's louder than the pink and white noise of the fan itself. At the highest level, it's almost closed. At least covered enough to not even notice it. Unfortunately, it is very loud with these settings! I don't have a problem with fan shroud noise, but my wife doesn't. To be honest I don't know what to do because I don't know if the replacement will do the same. Right now I have a fan surrounded by acoustic foam which helps a bit. Dissatisfied.
