When we bought our 17" Compaq we included this cooling pad simply because it was relatively cheap and felt like it would do the job. . Looking back, we should have shelled out a better booth. The stand didn't keep our laptop cool enough, which eventually led to charging issues. The laptop connects to the network and maintains the current battery percentage but displays "Not charging" or worse, connects and doesn't even show it's connected at all, resulting in a power outage. At first we thought it was a problem with the charger so we replaced it but the same problems started again. Not only that, the stand itself got so hot that the rubber feet you see on each corner started to loosen and eventually 3 out of 4 came off completely. We ended up replacing that thing with a Connectland stand, which was even cheaper than this Rocketfish, and we've had absolutely no charging issues since. I also noticed that the laptop now runs much cooler and lasts longer on a charge. Conclusion: hands off this product!
