Had to replace the front diff on my 2005 4WD Chevy Trailblazer LT. As part of the removal process, you must remove the intermediate shaft. This is the shaft that connects the differential through the oil pan to the electronic disconnect device on the opposite side (passenger side). . A GM adapter is available for about $60 but will not fit a regular slide hammer you can rent from an auto parts store (will fit a 3/4 inch slide hammer). This product fits EXACTLY! Screw into the layshaft and a 5/8 inch that fits any standard 5 pound slide hammer you can rent from O'Reilly's/Auto Zone/Advanced Auto/NAPA (or buy from Revain in this case). I screwed in the adapter, gave three sharp tugs, and the shaft popped out.
