Review on Renewed Logitech K800 Wireless πŸ’‘ Illuminated Keyboard: Brighter, Better, and More Convenient by Hayden Wang ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

I am writing a review for a 2022 release. She's 7 years old and still works great. Not broken, and not even a single key was erased. Not a single key creaks. For 7 years I changed the batteries once, with non-removable batteries it would be impossible. In general, the honor and praise of Logitech of those years, now they are releasing something incomprehensible, it’s especially a shame for the new revision of this K800 model

Pros
  • + The keyboard is already 7 years old, NOT A SINGLE BUTTON has broken, all functions work, as in the year of purchase! + By unscrewing 1 bolt, you can change the batteries (here they are standard, type AA), in other claves there is usually a non-removable battery and not batteries + Wireless, works on radio frequency (no bluetooth) + small transmitter eliminates wires and does not clutter up space + Holds a charge for a long time, several months (100+ days) if the backlight is turned off, and about 15-20 days if with it. I mean everyday use. But this is the result with replaced batteries of Mach 2700 (total 5400), and in the drain in the clave there are batteries of Mach 2022 (total 4000) + When the keyboard is dead, just connect the micro-usb wire for 3-4 hours and that's it, again months without recharging) + Built-in backlight, very convenient at night, there are several levels of glow. There is also a proximity sensor and when you bring your hands to the keyboard, the backlight automatically lights up. Like a Magic, as Jobs said) +The keyboard itself has a very interesting key travel. It sits between a long mechanical stroke and a short laptop stroke, for me it's just perfect. You can type all day and not get tired. The scissor-type mechanism itself, I consider this choice of the manufacturer the most successful of all membrane types of keyboards! + I really liked the design and materials, yes, it's not metal, but high-quality plastic, which over the years has not lost its attractiveness, has not become cloudy, has not turned yellow, but only covered with scratches
Cons
  • -The charge indicator drops very quickly from three bars to the last one, and then stays on it for MONTHS, the same with Logitech mice - At a distance of more than three meters, it loses connection (my computer is far from the sofa) if the receiver is not in direct line of sight, for example, it is plugged into the rear slot of the computer. To solve the problem, you need a direct line of sight of the keyboard and the receiver, for example, an extension cable or that the receiver is inserted into the front usb ports of the computer -Too many software and different receivers for different devices. This keyboard requires Logitech Setpoint and an old receiver, a new gaming mouse requires Logitech Gaming Software and a new receiver that is not compatible with the old one. For a new keyboard at work, you need the Logitech Options program and the THIRD type of receiver, incompatible with the previous two! Logitech, what's up? Where is the vaunted versatility? -The hated short left shift, on the other hand, there is another button that fits perfectly under the little finger, you can assign something to it in different programs and games
