The screen is thin and durable and difficult to wrinkle or damage. The lid fits well and the seams appear solid. I use this to infuse oak cask whiskey and we let it sit for 6 months so I don't know if there is any flavor odors due to the materials used in the construction of this filter. The only thing that made me laugh upon opening the box was the size of the cleaning brush. it's useless, only about 1 inch in diameter. Seriously, it has to be the right size cleaning brush. The brush in the picture looks like the right size, but yes I only had a 1 inch diameter brush. 4 stars because of that.
