Velcro is not strong enough
They worked for our newborn for a short time, but by the time he was 2 months old he was strong enough to constantly pop out from under the velcro. Velcro straps offer a super secure fit, so we had to look for another option that would help him sleep longer at night. Also, since the straps don't tighten properly, I can't tell you how many of my garments are pilled for the velcro to catch on my shirt! So annoying.
