This little guy has really enhanced my travel experience. I mainly used it as a rice cooker. Works great in this role. Just add rice and water. After cooking, the power will turn off automatically. Perfectly cooked rice every time. Goes well with jasmine and sushi rice. I've also used it for steamed dumplings and dim sum. As another reviewer pointed out, the only downside to this device is the lack of a lower temperature setting. Even at slow speeds, the water boils violently. Soup preparation requires supervision. The automatic shut-off only works when all the water has been used up. Once I made rice porridge and it became boiled rice when I forgot to check the water level. I've used both 110v and 220v hobs with no problems. The UK to US power adapter fits exactly. On the other hand, the adapter from the USA to Europe dangles a bit. For trips through Europe I would take a cable with a euro plug.
