I first bought this stuff to fill some of the gaps I had with my cage and attached tub that I bought. (I wrapped it back and forth and trimmed to create a barrier where there was a gap at the top). I had so much leftovers that I started playing with different configurations and my budgies really like them and seem to really enjoy chewing on them. Here are some of my favorite applications. If you have a treat clip, take a strip and start making figure eights that are about 2-3 inches long. Then use a clamp to pinch/hold the center. This gives them a fun loop. Make sure it's tight so they can't just pull it out when they pull. If you have a toy they love but start chewing on the rope holding it, you can try wrapping it around the rope area to give them something. Otherwise, you can gnaw and extend the life of the toy. Cut out little squares or strips and insert them into other toys for feeding or chewing to add a fun new element. It's strong enough, you can even put it on as a kind of perch/bridge. Especially if you double it. Just fasten it well. This material really has countless uses and is far more durable than you might expect. I've already got way more than my money's worth and I'm not even halfway through.
