super nice palette! loves it

I just started exploring watercolor this month! This is the first Prima Confiserie palette I own. I used the Kuretake Gansai Tanbi Set but wanted to use some western watercolor paints and decided to give them a try. 1) I like the color choice; All pigments are deep and bright! Pans are very easily reactivated. Graystone is such a beautiful soft gray color. Daylight is a nice yellow too, although I've only had a chance to swatch it. 2) I also love its size and how compact it is! I bring it to work to draw in my free time. It's now very easy to free up a small space on my desk, and the built-in mixing palette is invaluable for design-friendliness. 3) The colors also dry fairly quickly (I used a Strathmore 400 series cold press). toilet paper) so I can wait a minute or less for the page to dry before moving on to the next layer. Even when I'm done painting, it only takes me a few minutes for the palette (and the blending area) to dry before I can close it; although this may be because I use less water to mix the pigments (at least for my small pieces where I don't have to mix a bunch of one color). Textures (which I think look good, especially for landscape use, so I don't doubt it). I am very happy with this purchase and will probably take other confectionery palettes in the future :)

Pros
  • Includes 12 colors
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other shades
