I shopped for a week before deciding on this system and am happy with my purchase. This is truly a plug and play setup. The cameras have good infrared night vision. Playing and saving videos on a flash drive is very simple. These cameras have microphones. However, you can only set up audio recording from one camera. Concept detection is configurable for both sensitivity and the monitored area of the screen. I had questions about the system both before and after the purchase. Both times I received timely replies. You can watch live or play from a PC on your network. I don't connect to it from outside my home network, so I can't comment on the smartphone app. * A few installation and setup tips * Purchase a "CCTV junction box" for locations where you cannot connect indoors through a wall. The junction box contains the end of the cable and the plugs, making the installation cleaner. When setting up the recording schedule, I set recording by both time and detection. That is, every 24 hours is selected for both modes. This way you can see what triggers detection and what doesn't without missing anything. My 4 camera system has been working this way for almost 3 weeks and 2GB HD is about half full.
