Review on 🎧 TechRise USB Audio Adapter: External Stereo Sound Card for Windows, Mac, Linux, PC - Enhance Audio Experience on Laptops and Desktops by Eduardo Locke

Revainrating 4 out of 5

An excellent device so far, the documentation for which could be better.

Although I haven't had much time with this unit, so far it has worked flawlessly (Windows 10) and fully met my needs (to allow easy connection of a Logitech H111 stereo). headset to my computer for remote work during the pandemic). The unit itself deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating, but I'm deducting one star because of the poor documentation that exists for it, both the one that comes with it and that on the Revain website or the manufacturer (none - exists as far as I can tell can judge). One of the Revain images shows a bit of TS/TRS/TRRS 3.5mm "mic jack compatibility", which while not incorrect if interpreted literally (meaning it only refers to the ***mic jack *** refers), but is misleading due to the device Center connector IS a TRRS connector (Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve) which allows to work with a stereo headset with microphone via a TRRS connector. The right jack (headphones only) is a TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) jack, required for stereo headphones or speakers. The left jack (microphone only) is also a TRS jack as it will work with a microphone that uses this type of connector. Another piece of missing information in the documentation relates to the operation of the red and blue LEDs on the device. Next to the microphone mute button is a red LED that lights up when the microphone is muted. The blue LED next to the mute button is solid blue when the device is connected to the USB port, has power, and is recognized, and starts flashing when the device is receiving an active audio signal (it will continue to flash even if the device is muted). muted). I'm happy with my purchase now that I know it works the way I want it to and does indeed support a TRRS connection despite the questionable documentation available.
