Only Cast Iron Is A Good Thing

First, I must disclose that I am not an expert on cast iron cookware. I bought this after reading about nonstick materials and deciding that cast iron is the best alternative to try. I've seen friends use them successfully and they love them. I've researched the uses and care of cast iron, and while it requires a little more maintenance, the material is non-toxic and will last for decades. They are truly non-stick if used properly. Just google how to use and clean a cast iron skillet. It's good and I like the heat resistant coating on the handle. The 12-inch size is heavy, so you'll likely need a potholder on the loop opposite the handle to pick it up when it gets hot. It's seasoned and ready to use, which is nice. No lid is supplied, so you'll need to use the one you have or buy one separately. I only use one from another pan when I have to. The only downside to cast iron for some is the weight. They are more difficult to move and clean. Don't let any of them fall on your foot! You're also unlikely to toss and turn with any of these foods while cooking. Maybe small. Stainless steel is better for this, but otherwise they retain and distribute heat well and are very affordable. You don't have to replace it after a few years because the non-stick coating will peel off.
