Made from wheat. Looks and feels like plastic. I don't know what I was expecting but thought they might have a more earthy texture. Instead, they are indistinguishable from matte plastic. They are lightweight and can be washed in the dishwasher and used in the microwave. I could avoid putting plastic in the dishwasher and definitely wouldn't reheat food in plastic.
