I had a Stratus 5 and it lasted 9 years. The new Stratus 7 is the same as the old one, with one exception: the clock function is no longer part of the device. A little confused, but nothing bad in general. I didn't need to install the hardware as it was already installed in my car. I love the Stratus because I carry it in the car when I travel and at home I have a Sirius "Boom Box" or whatever it's called and I take it out of the car and plug the radio plugs right into the "box" and I shut Sirius can hear at home. You can't go wrong, especially with a great price! If you've never tried Sirius radio, you don't know what you're missing out on.
